Thank you for allowing us to partner with you on your journey to parenthood. We are privileged to have helped thousands of parents overcome their reproductive obstacles and welcome beautiful, healthy babies into their families. We would love to do the same for you, too.
We realize you might be understandably anxious about your first consultation. On the one hand, you want to learn why you are experiencing fertility troubles. On the other hand, you might be nervous about the intimate evaluations and even about what you might discover. We want to assure you that the specialists at Pacific Reproductive Center offer caring, compassionate guidance and decades of expertise to patients who wish to achieve pregnancy. Every member of our team – physicians, nurses, and administrative staff – is committed to giving you the support you need.
What to Expect During Your First Fertility Consultation
Our priorities are your physical and emotional comfort throughout the consultation and evaluation processes. In addition to diagnosing and addressing the cause of your fertility difficulties, we will connect you with our financial counselor, who will take your insurance details, discuss your financial options, and help you determine the most suitable payment structure.
Once you’ve checked in and met with our patient services representative, you will have your consultation with our reproductive endocrinologist. Here is what you should know in advance to help you prepare for your initial visit.
We will discuss your medical and personal histories.
We will begin your consultation by discussing your immediate concerns and any experiences you may have had with pregnancy. If you are experiencing difficulties in becoming pregnant, we will discuss the following:
- How long you’ve been actively trying to conceive.
- Which methods of birth control you have used.
- If you’ve been pregnant in the past, and if so, whether you’ve ever carried to term.
If you are having difficulties impregnating your partner, we will examine whether you have ever impregnated anyone in the past and if you have experienced physical or psychological trauma.
Numerous factors can contribute to a decline in fertility, and disclosing them is critical in determining the most effective treatment plan. These factors include:
- High stress
- History of eating disorders
- History of exposure to environmental toxins/pollutants
- History of heavy consumption of alcohol or alcohol dependency
- History of regular use of narcotics or narcotic dependence
- History of smoking
Our new patient form offers the convenience of disclosing relevant information in advance. You don’t have to bring your medical records to your first visit. However, if you think it will help you and the PRC team discover the most efficient treatment course, you are certainly welcome to bring any documentation relating to your health that you wish.
You will likely not undergo testing during your first visit, but our team might schedule additional examinations, an ultrasound evaluation, and semen analysis at a later date.
If you are frustrated by your lack of reproductive success, we are more than happy to help you understand the cause of your challenges. Every patient is unique. Whether you require only a relatively minor adjustment or need a sophisticated sequence of treatments, we will offer you a customized plan.
We are truly humbled to be a part of your reproductive journey. We look forward to meeting you.
